Public BBQ

A nature playground in the Western Sydney Parklands, built into bushland rather than dropped on top of it. There are two long bouncy flying foxes and a smaller one for little ones, a rock climbing wall with a big tubular slide, a large sandpit with diggers and a hand-operated water pump, circular net swings, a spinner, balance logs and ropes, and wooden animal carvings made from recycled timber. The facilities are exceptional: twenty picnic shelters, ten of them bookable, twenty-four free electric barbecues and ten coal stations, with modern accessible toilets centrally placed. The Pimelea Loop Path makes a 1.6 km circuit, and the Parklands Track runs on to the city farm, Moonrise Lookout, Sugarloaf Ridge and Prospect Reservoir. It is pitched squarely at three to eight year olds - younger children struggle on the timber structures, and older ones tire of the small slides quickly.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Fairfield council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Fairfield council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
